Lerma Castillo – Licensed Massage Therapist
“Neck and Shoulder Specialist!”
(will only do multi-level locations with an elevator, no stairs)
I became interested in Massage Therapy years ago when I lived in California. I was told by family members/friends about how strong my hands were, and I would work on them as potential clients. After researching the field, I realized that this was something that I really wanted to do. I decided to enroll in a program to obtain my license so that I could have my own business/clientele and enjoy the freedom of creating my own schedule. I attended Cortiva Institute (Formerly ASMT) and have now been licensed for 3 years.
I love providing deep tissue, trigger point, neuromuscular and myofascial techniques in my customize sessions. My goal in Massage Therapy is to learn how to incorporate the techniques that I use now and apply them toward a Medical Massage Certification. I am planning to get Oncology Certificate so that I can cater to the Breast Cancer population, as I am as well a Breast Cancer Survivor. I am also planning on a Lymphatic Certification within a year so that I can be knowledgeable in helping clients who are seeking assistance with this technique.
My children and especially my eldest daughter (now a young adult) inspires me in life. She was diagnosed with Scoliosis when she was 15. She is my “guinea pig” in some of the bodywork that I do, and she is always grateful for the massages to help ease her back pain.
I am very passionate about Massage Therapy. I enjoy helping my clients relieve their aches/pains and especially in the upper extremities. In my spare time, I love watching my favorite YouTube online mentor(s): Allison Denny of Rebel Massage and Ian Harvey of Massage Sloth. I’ve picked up on several techniques used from them and it has helped my become a better therapist for my clients. I listen to my clients concerns with care and compassion and always make sure they are comfortable throughout their session. I always ask about any pressure sensitivities and make sure they feel comfortable to inform me if they want me to adjust pressure in the focused areas.
I was attracted to Massage Therapy Fusion because I really like the idea of having my own schedule. I am very excited to be building my personal practice and client base and I look forward to becoming your Massage Therapist!
